Admission Rules

• Graduate Level - B.A. (Hons.) / B.S. (Hons. / BE

The academic session starts in September and concludes in May every year.  Admission to B.A./ B.S. (Hons)/ BE is made according to the schedule advertised in the leading newspapers (No admission form is accepted after the due date) and the lists of candidates selected provisionally are displayed on the University Notice Board.  The selected candidates shall be required to pay admission dues by the notified dates failing which their admission shall stand cancelled.

• Post Graduate Level - M.A. / M.Sc. / MS-CS / MIT / MBA

Admission to M.A. / M.Sc. Part I Classes shall be made according to the schedule advertised in the leading news papers. No admission form shall be accepted after the due date and the lists of selected candidates will be displayed on merit after the written test and the interview. The selectees shall be required to pay admission dues by the dates notified otherwise their seats shall stand cancelled.

Eligibility

a.       Only those female students having 4 years bachelors degree can apply for post graduate program.
b.       Those female students who are not above 26 years of age on the last date of receipt of applications.
c .       Those who have obtained II division marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the subject in which admission is being sought.
d .       Those who have passed B.A., B.Sc. examination in the previous or current year.
e .       Age and year of passing may be relaxed in special cases.

Special Requirements for some Subjects

1. B.Sc. (H.Eco), and B.Sc. students (other than Lahore College for Women University) are not eligible to apply for M.A. English
2. B. Com. Degree holders cannot apply for admission to M.A. English, M.Sc. Eco, Maths or Statistics.
3. Students with B.Sc. (Hons) Environmental Science can apply only for M.Sc. Environmental Science.
4. B.Sc. Electronics, Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. Physics may apply to M.Sc. Electronics One-Year course.
5. Students seeking admission to M.Sc. Physics, Economics or Statistics must have studied Mathematics at degree level.  Students with Math A Course and Math B Course only can apply for M.Sc. Mathematics.
6. Admission in M.A. Urdu, Punjabi, Pak. Studies, Islamiat and Gender Studied will be open to all graduates irrespective of the subjects they have studied at graduation level.  However, they will have to qualify for the test and interview for seeking admission in these subjects.

Admission Criteria

Admission to M.A./M.Sc., MCS/MBA Part I shall be made on merit determined on the basis of 82.5 marks counted as under:

One mark for each 100 in Matric                8.5
One mark for each 100 in Intermediate     11.00
One mark for each 100 in B.A / B.Sc.         8.00
Ten marks for each 100 in the subject       20
