Head of Department's Message
It is a matter of preformed pleasure for me that LCWU has started Pharm-D five year degree program in 2002. The Pharmacist’s knowledge and communication skills equip him/her well both at the community and national levels to bring greater improvements to patient health levels, to bring greater improvements to patient health outcome. Pharmacists in hospital and community practice have many opportunities daily to talk with and advise their patients on the most appropriate disease prevention and treatment options.
The Pharmacists can play an important role in improving the quality of life by providing better pharmaceutical services. The availability of safe, effective, quality and economical medicines is possible if expertise of the pharmacists is appropriately harnessed. They can also play their vital role to combat abuse and irrational use of medicines.
Medicines are the vital tools of the health care professionals for treating the oiling community but they will be of no benefit if are not of quality or not provided in right manner at right time to the patient.
The role of Pharmacist has been proved all around the globe more as a patient care provider, a pharmacists should accompany a physician for responsible provision of drug therapy thus improving the quality of life.
