Department of Economics
Economics studies how individuals and groups choose among resources available to meet their needs. It explores how decisions are made regarding available resources, as well as analyzes problems that develop when making choices and policy issues that affect economic decisions. Areas of study include Micro and Macroeconomics, International Economics, Money and Banking, Labor Markets, Cost Benefit Analysis, and Economic History and Theory.
The Department of Economics was established in Year 1922 at Intermediate Level. In year 1925 Bachelors classes were started. In 1966 masters level classes were introduced and from the year 1999 MSc degree has been awarded in Economics
