Lecture on “Model Building and Real Data Analysis”

Statistical Society of Lahore College for Women University arranged a lecture on 28th of January, 2008 on topic of “Model Building and Real Data Analysis� delivered by Mr. Muhammad Kashif Ali Shah lecturer in Statistics at G C, University Lahore.

About seventy students of B.S-I, B.S-II, B.S-III Statistics Major and students of M.Sc. Statistics attended the lecture. The function started with the introduction of the honorable guest. He stated the importance of “Model Building and Real Data Analysis�. He gave a brief introduction of ‘Econometrics’ and explained different types of data. He discussed the collection of data related to the problem under study and explained how an appropriate model is selected for analysis and forecast. He also discussed the diagnostic checks, applied to test the violation of assumption of fitted model.

In the end there was a question answer session then he was thanked by The Statistical Society and was invited for refreshment. It was an effective lecture indeed, students gained a lot from this lecture and it would provide an effective guidance to them for their project.
