PhD degree awarded to Ms. Rukhama Haq, Department of Biotechnology, LCWU

The Department of Biotechnology conducted its second PhD Public Defence Seminar on April 12th, 2018. The candidate, Ms. Rukhama Haq successfully completed her PhD dissertation entitled as “High throughput Molecular Screening of Citrus Tristeza Virus from Citrus Germplasm of Punjab and Production of Virus-Free Citrus Plants via In Vitro Shoot-Tip Grafting” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz. The dissertation is evaluated by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq (Director ORIC) from Government College University, Lahore and Prof. Dr. Aamir Ali, Chairperson, Department of Botany, University of Sargodha, Sargodha. They appreciated the research work done by the scholar as well as the publications from her PhD work in National and International Impact Factor Journals submitted already will reflect value of her work. Dr. Faiza Saleem, PhD Coordinator, Department of Biotechnology, LCWU on this occasion told the audience that the scholar has completed her dissertation in 4 years and 1 month of duration having 12 publications on her credit. One patent has also been filed from her research achievements.

 

PhD degree awarded to Ms. Sunniya Rasool, Department of Biotechnology, LCWU

The Department of Biotechnology conducted its second PhD Public Defence Seminar on April 12th, 2018. The candidate, Ms. Sunniya Rasool successfully completed her PhD dissertation entitled as “Detection of Grapevine viruses in commercial varieties of grapes in Pakistan and establishment of virus free plants by Micropropagation” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz. The dissertation is evaluated by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq (Director ORIC) from Government College University, Lahore and Prof. Dr. Aamir Ali, Chairperson, Department of Botany, University of Sargodha, Sargodha. They appreciated the research work done by the scholar as well as the publications from her PhD work, one is published in International Impact Factor Journal entitled “First report of Grapevine Pinot Gris virus infecting grapevine in Pakistan” and the other is submitted entitled “Survey of grapevine viruses in Pakistan” that reflect the value of her work. Dr. Faiza Saleem, PhD Coordinator, Department of Biotechnology, LCWU on this occasion told the audience that the scholar has completed her dissertation in 4 years and 1 month of duration having 3 publications on her credit.
