Career guidance & Counseling Centre (CGCC) in collaboration with Women Development Centre (WDC), LCWU organized awareness session and launch the campaign on "Drug Free Campus" with Council Members (Student Leaders) on September 22^nd , 2023. The event was held on the direction of Worthy Vice Chancellor "Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz".
Mrs. Samina Uzair and Ms. Tabinda Jalil were leading the session and highlighted the increased use of drugs in Higher Education Institutions. The problem of Drug/Substance Use and its causes along with hazardous effects on person, family, institution and society were shared with the participants. Mrs. Samina Uzair emphasized the "Role of Students" in "Awareness and Prevention" of Drug/Substance Use. The Concept of mental health and mental hygiene was brought into discussion and the guidance with practical steps were provided to students to promote mental health awareness in university students. The council members were guided on how they can serve as a bridge between students and available Mental Health services on LCWU Campus. Dr Uzma Ashiq Khan, Focal Person WDC also addressed the audience. Ms. Mamoona Riaz, Psychologist LCWU also participated in the discussion.
