The main objective of Sabiha Mansoor Institute of Languages & Culture is to use education as an effective and pervasive phenomenon for individual development and social transformation. ILC takes forward the key features of LCWU's vision aiming at quality education and employability through seven disciplines viz. English, Urdu, Persian, Punjabi, Arabic, French and TESOL at Graduate and Post Graduate level. The institute aims at empowering Pakistani women in the modem context and preparing them for the challenges of contemporary society. The future holds tremendous promise for the Institute. We look forward to being recognized as one of the leading institute nation wide. To achieve this goal, we are developing links with foreign Universities which will facilitate our students and faculty in their researches and will enable LCWIJ to emerge o research-based institution. The department of English organized an international conference on the Third World Women and the Politics of Feminism and in the future planning to organize more international symposiums and conferences for the enhancement of knowledge, and critical and philosophical debates which are of great benefits to both our students and faculty members. The first journal of research in the department of English is also being launched. Persian department is also launching its first research Journal, The departments of Punjabi, Arabic, Persian and Urdu have also established themselves as a hub for research and have so far produced numerous Ph.D. s in their respective disciplines. Through these endeavors the institute aims to create an academic and professional community devoted to meeting the infor-mation needs, research agendas and trends of the future.
