Seminars/Workshops and Guidance Sessions conducted
The workshops and seminars on the issues given below were organized for students. About 35-50 number of students from different faculties attended each session of these workshops. The registrations were invited through departments whereas self-registered participants also attended the events. Every year the meeting with Focal Persons of different Faculties of LCWU for CGCC are held to address the prevailing issues of the student and design yearly activities.
2017
Seminar on Women Empowerment through Self-Defense- A Psychological Aspect
A seminar on “Women Empowerment through Self Defense- A Psychological Aspect” was conducted by Counseling Centre. Ms. Tabinda Jalil (Student Counselor and Psychologist) and Ms. Mamoona Riaz delivered lecture to faculty and students of Biotechnology Department. Almost 150 students attended the seminar. The purpose of the seminar was to psychologically empower the students of LCWU and teaching them skills for self- defense.
Ms. Mamoona Riaz (Material Developer/ Psychologist) told students about self-defense strategies for women. The purpose of the lecture was to teach students importance of security in terms of psychological health of females.
· Guidance Session regarding Counseling and Assessment with Intermediate Students of Lahore College for Women University, Lahore is regular activity with newly registered students each year, during 2017 these sessions were conducted from 25th September -9th October.
· Workshop on ‘Presentation Skills’ was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 4th November, 2017 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.
· Workshop on Anger Management was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 8th May, 2017 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.
· Workshop on Conflict Resolution and Problem Solving was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 24th April, 2017 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.
· Workshop on ‘Procrastination management’ was conducted by Material Developer/Psychologist Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 31st March, 2017 in Seminar Hall of Bio-technology Department.
· Workshop on Self Esteem Building was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 9th March, 2017 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.

· Guidance session on ‘Adjustment to College Life’ was conducted by Student Counselor/Psychologist Ms. Tabinda Jalil and Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 23rd October, 2018 at seminar hall of Student Service Centre.

· Guidance session on ‘Adjustment to Hostel Life’ was conducted by Student Ms. Tabinda Jalil and Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 30th October, 2018 at seminar hall of Student Service Centre.

· Workshop on ‘Accessing Digital Library LCWU: hands on practice’ was conducted by Material Developer/Psychologist Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 11th January, 2019 in computer lab of Gender and Development Studies.
· Workshop on ‘Effective Time Management: A Key to Happiness’ was conducted by Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 14th October, 2019.
· Workshop on ‘Anger Management’ was conducted by Student Ms. Tabinda Jalil on 12th march, 2019.
· Workshop on ‘Review of Research Literature: General skills’ training for research students’ was conducted by Ms. Mamoona Riaz on 10th April, 2019.

· Workshop on ‘Developing Positivity in Life’ was conducted by Ms. Tabinda Jalil on 10th April, 2019.
2020
The initiative of online Counselling Services was taken to deal with the issues due to COVID-19, experienced by students. However since Career Guidance and Counselling Centre, LCWU provides individual and group counselling sessions to resolve personal, educational and familial issues of clients the centre extended its support with mental health issues in these unprecedented times through online system. These online services and resources have been planned to support current and future students of LCWU.
· During pandemic of COVID-19 Career Guidance and Counseling Centre (CGCC) started to offer online Counseling Services for Mother and Children for the females of Lahore. The mothers struggling with emotional and behavioral problems of children in response to pandemic have availed this facility. These services provided support to mothers and child without feeling judged, trust and confidentiality.
· Workshop on ‘Understanding Emotions’ was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 11th November, 2020 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.
· Workshop on ‘Confidence Building’ was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 18th February, 2020 at Seminar Hall of Student Service Centre.
2021
· Workshop on ‘Anger Management’ was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 4th February, 2021 at Psychology Department Resource Room.
· Workshop on ‘Confidence building’ was conducted by Student Counselor/ Psychologist Ms. Tabinda Jalil on 2nd February, 2021 at Psychology Department Resource Room.
· Online Workshop on ‘Stress and its Management’ as Guest Speaker in a Community Service Project was conducted by Student Counselor/Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mrs. Samina Uzair on 12th & 14th January, 2021.
Awareness lectures on Harassment Complaint Cell, LCWU:
The information and awareness lectures by Ms. Mamoona Riaz were a regular activity with BS graduates about Harassment Complaint Cell, LCWU (2010-2019). Every year the new entrants of BS programs from different faculties were addressed during guidance and information sessions about Counseling Centre. The information about the process of launching complaint, inquiry process and possible punishment of harassment was also delivered during these sessions. The information regarding HCC also used to be displayed at different university noticeboards.

Career Guidance and Counseling Centre Services
For the students of Lahore College for Women University
Career Guidance and Counseling Centre’ is offering counseling and guidance services to students of LCWU. The main focus of the Centre is individual and group counseling under the logo of trust and confidentiality. Individual and Group Counseling sessions are conducted to resolve personal and educational and familial issues of clients. In addition to counseling services, psychological assessment services including intelligence and personality assessment are also available. All these services are offered free of cost for the students and staff of LCWU. Now the centre wants to extend its support with mental health issues in these unprecedented times through online system. The students can avail this online facility to deal with their concerns and issues through professional and confidential counseling services. The issue may include any mental health or personal problems some may include following:

Career Guidance and Counseling Centre (CGCC) Lahore College for Women University Online Counseling Services for Mothers and Children(aged 4-10 years) started during COVID-19
Introduction
Women Institute of Leadership and Learning (WILL) has an aim to impart broader, liberal and tolerant, vision to the students. We are ambitious to mould and train students in such a manner that they have a wider range of job opportunities in future so that at the end of the day they are economically viable units of the society. Career Guidance and Counseling Centre (CGCC) as part of WILL has always played its role to achieve these goals. The centre has always worked for better mental health and personality grooming of the students. Lahore College for Women University is a female university with most faculty and staff being female. Considering the working women issues and problems of our society, CGCC has been also providing mental health counseling services to LCWU’s female faculty.
COVID-19 pandemic has unfolded a major public health crisis in developing society like Pakistan. Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, everyday life has changed and will continue to change for most people. Everyone is struggling with significant change to their routine e.g. remote working, online study of all students from schools to post graduate, social distancing and closure of many recreational activities.
Children and young ones are keen observers of people and environments. The current situation has caused emotional and mental health crisis for the younger population. The caregivers particularly mothers are challenged with many changes in their children like demand of extra attentions, sleeping and eating disturbances, irritability and many more. The problems of working mothers have increased in such scenario; where they have to manage the issues of children along with their remote working responsibilities e.g. teaching online, attending meetings, working on projects etc. Working mothers often feel exhausted because parenting can be difficult and also time consuming. The society and culture of Pakistan put heavy domestic chores responsibilities on females along with major role of care-giving and nurturing. Dealing with the emotional and mental health problems of children during pandemic is another source of females’ own mental health.
Keeping in view all the above mentioned situations during pandemic of COVID-19 Career Guidance and Counseling Centre (CGCC) intends to offer online Mother and Children Counseling Services for females of Lahore.
Target Population
These online counseling services will target females of Lahore having children between 4-10 years. The mothers who are struggling with emotional and behavioral problems of children in response to pandemic can avail this facility. These services will support mother and child without feeling judged and with trust and confidentiality.

Answer: Dear, there is no one in this world who does not have problems in life. It’s only the matter of severity and intensity that differs. Do not wait for the time when problems control you. You can share your problems with psychologists in the Centre who are there to help you out. Feel free to visit Counseling Centre.
Q 2: I am hesitant to share my personal information with psychologists. I am afraid what will my friends and teachers think when they will come to know about my personal issues?
Answer: Dear client, we do not disclose personal information of our clients to anyone. Privacy and confidentiality of information shared by clients is maintained.
Q 3: I have problem in giving presentation in the class room, how can I overcome it?
Answer: There are lots of confidence building exercises, and anxiety management skills. You can visit Counseling Centre for ‘individual counseling’ and can get written materials on techniques regarding confidence building.
