IR Department organized a seminar in collaboration with Pakistan Navy War College

The Department of International Relations at Lahore College for Women University recently organized a seminar in collaboration with Pakistan Navy War College. The event focused on the crucial theme of "Traditional and Non-Traditional Security Challenges to Pakistan."  

The seminar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem. Professor Dr. Shabnam Gul, Chairperson of the Department of International Relations, extended a warm welcome to esteemed guest speakers, expressing gratitude for their presence. Dr. Gul emphasized the significance of the chosen topic for students studying international relations.The seminar was also attended by students and faculty members of various departments. 

Brigadier (R) Azam Agra, the first speaker, delved into the multifaceted security challenges facing Pakistan, addressing issues of governance and border disputes with neighboring countries. Dr. Asia Mukhtar from Kinnaird College for Women University focused on Pakistan's energy security concerns, providing insights into the background of the energy dilemma and potential solutions. 

Lieutenant Sufiyan, representing Pakistan Navy War College, concentrated on maritime security threats and challenges faced by Pakistan, highlighting future opportunities in the maritime domain. Dr. Hassan Mashwani from Minhaj University shed light on the security challenges posed by Afghan refugees in Pakistan. 

Adding an international perspective, a German national, Metchlid Geyer , working as a lecturer at Minhaj University, graced the event, offering insights into the security challenges faced by Pakistan as a South Asian nation. 

At the conclusion of the seminar, tokens of appreciation were presented to the speakers, and Dr. Shabnam Gul praised both students and the audience for their active participation conclude and the organizers for managing it so well. The event concluded with refreshments served to the guests.
