Interactive Session on Journey of Pakistani Women Advocates By GDS

Department of Gender and Development Studies, LCWU held a Interactive Session on Pakistani Women Rights Advocates struggles for the women issues on 12th March, 2024 as an activity of  Women Development Centre (an initiative by Women Development Department, GoP). Ms. Neelam Hussain, Executive Coordinator/Founder, Simorgh Women's Resource & Publication Centre was resource person of the session. She is one of the living legends and advocates of Pakistani Women Movement and also member Women’s Action Forum (WAF), AWHRC Core Group for the Declaration on Women’s Human Rights in Asia, and South Asia Hub Pathways to Women’s Empowerment Research Consortium.
The main purpose of this session was to get familiar our young women with the efforts and experiences of first generation of Pakistani Women Rights Movement advocates. So that they can learn from their practical experiences and knowledge and they can build consensus on current women issues and raise their voices on those issues.
