Brief Statement of Research Interest

My research interests lie primarily in the area of health psychology. My research studies are focused on sleep disorders, sleep issues, treatment outcomes like health related quality of life and wellbeing, cognitive functioning, resilience, fatigue, and chronic diseases specifically respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, kidney disease, breast and cervical cancers. Other areas of research are psychometrics, biopsychosocial impact of diseases, grief, depression, body image dissatisfaction, women issues like PCOS, infertility, stress, and coping in varied samples (university students, adults, patients). A lot of my recent and current work is focused on Covid-19 and its impact on emotional, social and mental health in students, adults and elderly population.

Other Research or Creative Accomplishments

Developed an indigenous scale on Sleep Disorders which could be used for screening the adults for the presence of sleep problems and symptoms of sleep disorders (as given by DSM-5). The scale is useful as it could be used to identify individuals who have or are at a risk of a specific sleep disorder so clinical investigations could be done to timely diagnose and treat their sleep issues.
