    Dr. Muhammad Bilal Nawaz has successfully completed his Post-Doctoral

    Dr. Muhammad Bilal Nawaz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at Lahore College for Women University, has successfully completed his Post-Doctoral research from the Institute of Media Studies, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. His research, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali, focused on the topic: "Incivility on Social Media in Political Discourse: Examining the Political Content on X."

    Dr. Bilal holds the distinction of being the first faculty member from the Department of Mass Communication to earn a post-Doctorate.

    Iman Mariym 's Achievements (Student of GDS Department)

    Ms. Iman Mariym (student of Gender and Development Studies Department) was selected for the Global UGRAD (Global Undergraduate Exchange Program) scholarship, a fully funded U.S. Department of State program. Through this opportunity, she spent a semester at Boise State University, Idaho, where she studied courses related to  Gender Studies.

    During her time there, she actively participated in cultural exchange events, engaged in community service, and connected with students from diverse backgrounds. This experience not only enhanced her academic and leadership skills but also deepened her  understanding of diversity, inclusion, and global collaboration.

     

    4th Day of Women’s Hockey Joint Camp – Qatar & LCWU Pakistan

    The fourth day of the **Women’s Hockey Joint Camp** was marked by an **intense and competitive match** between **Qatar and Lahore College for Women University (LCWU)**, ending in a **2-2 draw**. Both teams displayed **exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination**, making it a thrilling encounter for players and spectators alike.HockeyLCqatar4.jpg - 230.76 kBThe match saw **LCWU take an early lead**, showcasing their **aggressive attacking strategies**, while **Qatar responded with strong defensive play and counterattacks**. The second half was particularly engaging, with both teams pushing for a decisive goal, ultimately concluding in a **well-fought tie**.

    Eligibility Criteria:
     

    Applicant Must:
    • Have domicile from any district of the Punjab
    • Family monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000 (Affidavit Required) (Download Sample Affidavit)
    • The Applicant must be enrolled in Selected Disciplines in the Selected Universities / Colleges from 3rd semester to 8th semester. Students already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th of MBBS and BDS are also eligible for this scholarship program.
    • Minimum CGPA / Annual Exam Percentage requirements for scholarship:
      • Public Sector Universities / Colleges (≥ 70% equivalent CGPA for Sciences and ≥ 65% equivalent CGPA for Arts
      • Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges (≥ 60%) in annual exams
      • Selection of merit criteria based on HEC Policy guidelines for Implementation of uniform Semester system in HEIs of Pakistan

    Tashfa Saghir, Declared as the Best Debater of Pakistan

    The English Debating Society, LCWU is proud to announce a momentous achievement as Tashfa Saghir, Secretary of the English Debating Society, has been declared the Best Debater of Pakistan. Representing LCWU at the prestigious 44th Allama Muhammad Iqbal Bilingual Declamation Contest held at Government College University, Lahore, Tashfa’s unparalleled oratory skills and dedication have brought immense honor to the institution.

    The (AIBD) is recognized as the pinnacle of competitive oration in Pakistan. For decades, it has been the platform where the finest orators have showcased their talent, and this year, Tashfa’s exceptional performance earned her the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Award, the highest accolade for the greatest English orator in Pakistan.

    This historic victory not only highlights Tashfa’s individual brilliance but also signifies the excellence of LCWU in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of academic and extracurricular distinction.

    On behalf of the EDS LCWU, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tashfa Saghir for this extraordinary achievement. Her success will forever be remembered as a proud moment. We wish her continued success in her journey in the art of declamation.
