Central Research Lab

Overview

The Central Research lab was established at Lahore College for Women University, Lahore in 2004 under the HEC funded projects and supervision of Dr. Farhat Saleemi as a project director This Lab has established as a hub for research and development (R&D) activities at Lahore College for Women University Lahore. The Central research facility for all basic science departments aims at achieving high quality R & D activities in experimental techniques by imparting training to researchers in high tech equipment. Establishment of new research laboratory in 2004 was under HEC funded projects in line with the HEC objective to strengthen the high tech research lab equipped with more than 80 sophisticated machinery like , Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), XRD , GCMS , HPLC,  UV-Visible , Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer , FTIR, High Temperature  Furnace , TGA.DTA  etc. have made this Central lab  distinct among other Universities. The lab provides the possibility of consultation and expert analysis from world class research faculty.  The laboratory offers opportunities for scientific research  that enable researchers to pursue research in  disciplines of biological, chemical and physical sciences.

Our resources can helps researchers to achieve this.  I would like to reiterate that promoting sustainability in labs not only keeps the lab safer, but proves to be a great return on investment. Researchers and lab support staff feel good about laboratory practices - it keeps things fresh and innovative in terms of employee engagement. As described with various examples, sustainable laboratories contribute towards safer lab practices and makes it very conducive for running lab programs flawlessly. Sustainability and safety in the lab go hand in hand and help the company to save money in the long run.
