    Ph.D Education (3-5 Years) STEM Education

    The Ph.D. in Education program offered by the Department of Educational Psychology is designed to deepen scholars’ understanding of educational processes, psychological principles, and research methodologies. The program provides a stimulating academic environment that encourages critical inquiry, innovation, and advanced research in the field of education and psychology.

    It emphasizes contemporary teaching strategies, empirical research, and professional growth through access to state-of-the-art university facilities. The program is available for both weekday and weekend Ph.D. scholars.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    1.    M.S./M.Phil. in Education, Psychology, TESOL, English, or any relevant field (18 years of education) from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00.

    2.    Subject GRE (International/Local) with a minimum 60% score or above.

    3.    University Admission Test with a minimum 70% score.

    Program Duration: 3–5 Years

     

    Ph.D Education (3-5 Years) Educational Psychology

    The Ph.D. in Education program aims to enhance students’ research expertise and academic knowledge by providing a stimulating scholarly environment and rigorous curriculum. The program emphasizes creative teaching methodologies, advanced research practices, and access to state-of-the-art facilities, enabling scholars to engage in meaningful educational inquiry.

    This program is offered to both weekday and weekend Ph.D. scholars.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    1.    M.S./M.Phil. in Education, English, TESOL, Psychology, or a relevant field (18 years of education) from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00.

    Dr. Tahira Batool

    Dr. Tahira Batool is an Assistant Professor in Department of STEM Education and Deputy Proctor of the Faculty of Education at the Faculty of Education, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). An HEC-approved PhD supervisor, she brings extensive academic, research, and leadership experience to her role. She has a PhD in Education from the University of the Punjab. With distinguished academic career and extensive contributions to higher education Tahira is leading efforts to strengthen STEM Educations’ research culture fostering scholarship that is rigorous, relevant, and needful.

    She is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in research and academic administration. She has a track record of developing innovative academic programs and courses related to Education, Science Education and STEM Education. She has supervised six PhDs and 34 MS students. Tahira has published numerous research papers in W, X and Y category national and international journals and has citations in impact journals. She has moderated, organized and presented, in numerous national and international conferences.

    Dr. Tahira, has established her goal to broaden the definition of impactful scholarship to include work that contributes to academic conversations and addresses the pressing need of research and society. She always tries to share her skills, experience, and knowledge with others, either formally or informally. She is always open to provide resources to those who need, promoting literacy and knowledge. She is always ready to share expertise with others, either online or offline, to help learners’ new skills.

    With a progressive vision for education aligned with global standards and societal needs, Dr. Tahira Batool is committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and impactful scholarship, making LCWU a vibrant hub for research scholars and professionals worldwide.

     

    Dr. Tayyaba Batool

    Dr. Tayyaba Batool is an Assistant Professor in the Department of STEM Education at Lahore College for Women University, Pakistan. She earned her PhD in Instructional Design and Technology from Old Dominion University, USA (2017). Her research focuses on digital learning design, cognitive engagement, and learner agency in technology-mediated environments.

    Dr. Tayyaba Batool currently serves as the PhD Coordinator of her department. She has also served as the Acting Head of Department at a public university and has been an active member and chair of various academic and administrative committees. As part of the Faculty Development Program, she has contributed both as an organizer and as a resource person in multiple training workshops.

    She has supervised more than twenty research theses at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels and has taught across all academic programs. Prominent courses she has taught so far include Measurement and Evaluation, Statistics in Education, Leadership in Education, and Social and Cognitive Psychology.

    Dr. Tayyaba Batool has led several university-level initiatives promoting educational innovation and women’s empowerment through STEM. Her current research interests focus on digital well-being, instructional design for self-regulated learning, and pedagogical transformation in higher education.

    Dr. Nadia Saleem

    Dr. Nadia Saleem is serving as a Lecturer in the Department of STEM Education at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore. She holds a Ph.D. in Education and possesses over seven years of teaching and research experience. Her area of specialization is Educational Leadership and Management.

    Dr. Nadia has a strong research portfolio, with several publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at various international conferences. She has also been actively involved in organizing and participating in academic workshops, training programs, and conferences.

    In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Nadia contributes to the academic and administrative development of the university through her participation in multiple departmental and university-level committees, including the Board of Studies. She has supervised numerous undergraduate (BS) and postgraduate (MS) research projects and is currently supervising Ph.D. scholars.

    With her expertise in educational research and leadership, Dr. Nadia continues to play a vital role in enhancing the academic excellence of her students and the department.

    Dr. Abira Ismat Butt

    Dr. Abira Ismat Butt holds a Ph.D. in Education and brings over a decade of professional experience spanning both public and private sector educational institutions. She possesses more than five years of teaching and research experience. In addition to a Ph.D., she holds an M.Phil. in Educational Leadership and Management from Beaconhouse National University (BNU) and an M.Phil. in Environmental Sciences from Kinnaird College for Women (KC).

    Her areas of interest include Educational Leadership and Management, STEAM Education, Sustainable Education, and Teachers’ Professional Development. Dr. Abira has published several research papers in HEC-recognized W, X, and Y category journals.

    She has also served as a core team member on an HEC-funded NRPU project focused on the implementation of STEAM pedagogy and teacher capacity building in schools. In this role, she contributed to the design and implementation of STEAM-based learning activities and conducted teacher training sessions, equipping educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively integrate STEAM projects into classroom practices.

     

    Dr. Mahvish Fatima Kashif


    Dr. Mahvish Fatima Kashif is an Assistant Professor in the Department of STEM Education, Faculty of Education at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore. She also serves as the Centralized Coordinator for the MS Education Program; one of the university’s key initiatives in the field of Teacher Education. She possesses over 20 years of professional experience in teaching and research within the higher education sector. With over two decades of experience in teaching and research at the tertiary level, she brings deep expertise and academic commitment to her work.

    Her primary research interests span Measurement and Assessment in Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, and STEM Education. She has taught a wide range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including measurement and assessment in education, educational psychology, leadership in education, statistics, and research methodology.

    Dr. Mahvish is a passionate educator. She believes that all students are entitled to high-quality instruction and should be provided with frequent opportunities to engage, collaborate, and reflect.

    She is actively involved in both teaching and research. With more than 40 national and international publications to her credit, Dr. Mahvish has presented her work at various global forums and national conferences. She has also mentored and successfully supervised numerous students at BS, MS, and PhD levels.

    In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Mahvish has served as Program Leader under the Leadership Development Program at the Directorate of Faculty Development and Institutionalization (DFDI). In this role, she played a vital part in faculty development initiatives and contributed to institutional capacity-building efforts at LCWU.

    In addition to her academic and administrative roles, Dr. Mahvish is an active contributor to institutional development through her involvement in various university committees. She also serves as a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) for the Department of STEM Education, where she contributes to academic planning, curriculum development, and policy formulation to enhance the quality and relevance of educational programs.

    MS Education (2 Years) STEM Education (Regular/ Self-Support)

    MS in Education program focuses on extending knowledge of STEM and research expertise of students through quality academic environment and challenging curricula. MS in STEM Education is a post Graduate degree offered in evening time (2:pm to 5:pm) suitable for pre-service and in service teachers to come up with excellent skills of pedagogy, research and assessment. It provides brilliant scholars an opportunity of high-quality professional development and a well reputed degree in the field of STEM Education to be an honorable member of academia.

    Program Aims

    1.Promote research and scholarship in constantly changing educational contexts.

    2.Prepare professionals and researchers who support learning societies and good citizenship.

    3.Promote innovative approaches for teaching and learning in higher education.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Female candidates with 16 years of Education BS 4 years or 2 years MA in Education or equivalent.
    • The candidate must have obtained 2.5/4.00 CGPA in Semester System on50% marks in Annual System.

    Diploma in STEM Education

    One Year Diploma in STEM Education


    Objectives:

    The diploma holders will be able to work as STEM teachers at various levels in schools. They will be better equipped with the skills of teaching; the four fields as compared to applicants with a degree in mere Science Education. After graduation, the students will be equipped not only with advanced science, technology, engineering and mathematics tools but also will acquire skill sets needed to apply science, technology, and mathematics towards engineering problems.

    Moreover, the diploma holders will be able to:

    • Apply mathematical, Scientific and related knowledge to identify and address technical and societal problems.
    • Teach students to enhance their intellectual and analytical abilities intaking initiatives and/or develop innovative ideas for professional growth in STEM and allied disciplines.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Female candidates having FSc with at least 2nd division or A-Levels in streams of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics or other relevant fields are eligible to apply BS Ed (STEM Education) Program.
