Through our academic departments of Gender and Development Studies and Sociology, we strive to create an intellectually vibrant environment that empowers students to critically engage with social realities and contribute meaningfully toward positive societal change.

At WILL, our vision is to nurture socially conscious, ethically responsible, and professionally competent individuals who can become agents of change within their communities and beyond. Our mission extends beyond classroom learning. We strongly believe in connecting academic knowledge with practical implementation through active collaborations and liaison with national and international forums, government institutions, NGOs, development organizations, and community partners. These partnerships provide our students with opportunities for field exposure, research engagement, policy work, internships, and professional networking, helping them build impactful careers in academia, development, advocacy, and social services.

The name of Dr. Ruth Pfau itself stands as a timeless symbol of compassion, humanity, resilience, and lifelong service to marginalized populations. Her dedication continues to inspire the values and direction of WILL, reminding us that education and service must always go hand in hand.

Personally, my own academic and professional journey has remained deeply connected with women’s empowerment, mental health advocacy, social justice, and feminist research. Over the years, I have had the privilege to work with various national and international organizations, including collaborations associated with the World Health Organization (WHO). My contributions in the field of feminist research and social services have also been internationally recognized, including receiving the prestigious Gunvald Award from Denmark. These experiences continue to shape my vision for WILL as a space where education empowers individuals not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.

I warmly welcome students to join WILL and become part of a progressive learning community where leadership, learning, empathy, service, and social transformation are valued and nurtured together.
