Two-day workshop on advanced Data Handling

The Department of Economics, in collaboration with ORIC, organized a two-day workshop on Advanced Time Series Data Handling Techniques using Eviews and STATA. The speakers were Dr. M. Awais Anwar, Assistant Professor, University of Education and Dr. Nouman Arshad, Assistant Professor, UMT. The participants included faculty members from various departments and MS Economics students. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, graced the event with his presence. He welcomed the participants and congratulated Dr. Samia Nasreen, Chairperson, Economics Department, for organizing the workshop.  The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by the honourable Chairperson and the award of souvenirs to the speakers.
Digital Marketing to Generate Income Through Online Business

Women’s capability concerning domestic, political, social educational, and economics matter a lot for the realization of the basic objectives of the sustainable development initiative (i.e., poverty reduction, good health, education, and so on). To achieve the final goal of poverty reduction, greater emphasis must be placed on women capabilities and providing them opportunities to explore their competences.

Women are not just potential beneficiaries of efforts to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. They are also active participants in achieving them. That’s why we organized a cross sectoral dialogue to highlight the opportunities for women and a road map to fulfill SDGs 1 and 4.

For this purpose, LCWU Economic Department invited Ms. Sam Ali dada president Lahore women chamber of commerce and industries and Ms. Tabinda Osman, assistant director public relation and marketing in superior university Lahore.

Ms. Sam Ali Dada started Cross Sectoral Dialogue by explaining the importance of women in economic activities and after that she highlighted the role of chamber of commerce and industries in uplifting and promoting the business opportunities for women. She explained and offered the following opportunities to the student of LCWU Lahore. After that Ms. Tabinda Osman helped the students to understand digital media marketing and how digital media marketing help them to advertise their business activities without spending so much expense on advertisement.  She explained to the students that

Workshop on Time Series Analysis in Eviews and GMM in STATA

THREE DAYS WORKSHOP ON “SURVEY DATA AND PANEL DATA ANALYSIS IN STATA”

The Department of Economics organized a three-day workshop on ‘Survey Data and Panel Data Analysis in STATA’ from 29th January to 31st January. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Muhammad Azmat Hayat (Assistant Professor, University of Punjab). The participants of the workshop included MS Economics students and faculty members from the Economics Department, Statistics Department and the Mass Communication Department.

 The main objective of the workshop was to familiarize students and faculty members with the application of one of the latest statistical software, that is, STATA. The workshop aimed to inform participants regarding the usage of the software as well as its econometric relevance. The workshop played a vital role in providing a stepping stone for students and faculty members in the facilitation of their research work.

The workshop ended on Friday, 31st January. Dr. Tahira Tauheed, Head of Department, gave a vote of thanks in which she thanked the participants for their cooperation and the Economics Society for organizing such a successful event.

Dr. Tahira Tauheed stated that the Economics Departments plans to further conduct a number of workshops for the capacity development of the faculty members and the students. At the end of her address, Dr. Tahira Tauheed presented Dr. M. Azmat with a token of appreciation.
