e-Rozgaar LCWU Center
e-Rozgaar LCWU Center is a Government of Punjab’s initiative started with a vision to reduce unemployability among educated youth. Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Youth Affairs and Sports Department established e-Rozgaar centers in 36 districts of Punjab to provide training to budding freelancers and enhance their professional capabilities. Through this initiative, youth may be assisted in earning sustainable income.
e-Rozgaar center in Lahore College for Women University is established in August 2017. The project was led by Prof. Shagufta Naz, Vice Chancellor, Dean of Science and Technology LCWU.
The first Batch of e-Rozgaar LCWU center was enrolled in November 2017. For operational purposes, Gangaram building which has historic significance of women education in region since 1922, was selected to be a model E-Rozgaar Lab. A lab of 100 computers with state-of-the-art equipment was established in support of PITB to equip women with digital skills and address unemployment among youth.
e-Rozgaar, LCWU center is a great example of women empowerment and addresses digital literacy in the region. Up till now, 19 batches are successfully graduated from e-Rozgaar under three major streams of digital marketing, technical skills and creative and graphic design.
The Female Graduates who benefited from this program are more than 2000 in number. These students belonged to various regions of Punjab not limited to Lahore district. The earnings made after getting digital skills from e-Rozgaar LCWU Center are more than $54000.
