B.Ed. (4 Years) Science Education (Regular/ Self-Support) 

Four years B.Ed program is offered to meet the needs and challenges of Science Education Teachers in Government and Private sectors. The program offers pre-service teachers training in the most relevant, contemporary science concepts including different fields of natural science, math science and computer science catering the range of subjects taught from primary to secondary and higher secondary classes. The program enables pre-service teachers to master the content as well as pedagogy of the science subjects and have professional teaching skills and competency to convey science concepts critically and systematically. It helps pre-service teachers to design effective and concrete activities to make students at hand with real life experiences and think creatively and scientifically.

Program Aims: Enabling Science Teachers To

  • ·Frame relevant goals and objectives to teach science subjects.

  • ·Select science content and adapt and design curricula to meet the interests, knowledge, understanding, abilities, and experiences of students.

  • ·Select teaching and assessment strategies that support the development of student understanding and nurture a community of science learners.

  • ·Focus and support inquiries while interacting with students.

  • ·Recognize and respond to student diversity and encourage all students to participate fully in science learning.

  • ·Encourage and model the skills of scientific inquiry, as well as the curiosity openness to new ideas and data, and skepticism that characterize science.

Eligibility

Female candidates having Intermediate (HSSC)/A-Levels in stream of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science or other relevant fields with atleast50% marks are eligible to apply for B.Ed. Science Education Program.
