FAQ's

How do I get a library card?

Ans. Submit applications for membership on prescribed form available at the library information desk.

Q. How do I borrow books?

Ans. Once you are registered, you may check out library books by presenting your valid library card

Q. What should I do if I lose my library card?

Ans.  If your library card is lost, be sure to report immediately in writing. A duplicate card will be issued to you on payment of a fee of Rs. 100/-

Q. How many books can I borrow?

Ans.  It varies for each category. Please see Library Issuance entitlement.

Q. For how long may I keep a book?

Ans. It varies for each category. Please see Library Issuance entitlement.

Q. Can I get a book reissued?

Ans. You can get a book reissued for a further loan period if somebody else has not requested for it. A book will not be reissued twice.

Q. Can someone else checkout books for me?

Ans. No, nobody can check out books on someone else’s behalf.

Q. What happens if a user returns library books late?

Ans. A fine begins as soon as the book is overdue.

Q. How much fine do I have to pay?

Ans. One rupee per book per day.

Q. What happens if I do not pay my fine?

Ans. Your library account will be terminated if you do not pay the fine due to you.

Q. What happens if I lose a book?

Ans. Report it immediately at the circulation desk. 

Q. How can I refund my library security?

Ans. Library security shall be refunded after submission of application on the prescribed form. Submit the application between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Students must collect their checques within six months of the conclusion of the session.
