International Conference Participation by Statistics department

University of North Carolina Greensboro, USA had organized a Three days Virtual International Conference on Advances in Interdisciplinary Statistics and Combinatorics 2021 from 8th Oct 2021- 10th Oct 2021. The conference featured special sessions covering a variety of contemporary topics such as Causal Inference, Design of Experiments, Survey Sampling, High Dimensional Data Analysis, Big Data, Data Science/Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Bayesian Statistics, Topological Data Analysis, Functional Data Analysis, Distribution Theory, Survival Analysis, and Statistical Consulting. 

Statistics Department of Lahore College for Women University had participated in this conference. Total Thirteen presenters from Statistics department, LCWU had successfully presented their research work. Postgraduate students Ms. Abeera Shakeel, Ms. Jiya Amir, Ms. Anmol Tahir and Ms. Uzma Yaqoob had presented their research articles under the supervision of Dr. Asifa Kamal, Ms. Mahnaz Makhdum and Ms. Asma Zeb. Three Undergraduate students Ms. Sana Nazir, Ms. Fatima Majeed and Anmol Tahir (on behalf of Ayesha Bashir) represented their research article under the supervision of Dr. Sehar Saleem, Ms. Naz Saud and Ms. Asma Zeb.

Faculty of statistics department had also fully participated in this conference. Dr. Naila Amjad, Dr. Maryam Hafeez, Dr. Sadia Khalil and Ms. Naz Saud presented their work. Dr. Asifa kamal Chairperson of statistics department had chaired session on 9th Oct 2021 titled as “Analysis of Public Health Data” and Dr. Sadia Khalil, Assistant professor also chaired session on “Sampling Methods”. Undergraduate researcher award won by two of Dr. Gupta’s students, also co-supervised by Dr. Sadia Khalil.

Overall, Conference was a great experience and Chairperson of AISC 2021 conference, Dr. Sat Gupta congratulated and appreciated Statistics department LCWU for the contribution as presenters.
