International Seminar on "Linearly Recurrent Sequences and its Applications"

The Department of Mathematics, LCWU, in collaboration with ORIC, LCWU organized an International Seminar on "Linearly Recurrent Sequences and its Applications" on Feb 17, 2022. The seminar's invited speaker was Professor Michel Waldschmidt, an emeritus professor from Sorbonne University, Paris, France.

Professor Michel Waldschmidt is a high-profile French mathematician who has been the president of the French Mathematical Society from June 2001 to 2004, and the vice president of CIMPA (International Centre of Pure and Applied Mathematics, France). In his talk on Linearly Recurrent Sequences (LRS) and applications, he first explained the exceptional cases of LRS, that is, Fibonacci, Lucas, balancing numbers, Perrin, Padovan, Narayana, and then correlated them with sequence present in nature.
