Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi attended the Vice Chancellors’ Conference organized by the Punjab Higher Education Commission on 30th August 2025 at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore.

The conference centred on key higher education reforms, focusing on Academic Excellence, Quality Assurance, Financial Stability, and Good Governance.
Prof. Dr. Quraishi participated as a panelist in a session on Teaching Excellence, Research, and Innovation, where she emphasized the importance of collective efforts in ensuring academic advancement and institutional growth. She highlighted that strong governance mechanisms, sustainable financial models, and a commitment to quality education are crucial for enabling universities to meet global standards.

She further elaborated on the 7Is Model, which includes:
* Integrity-based governance
* Immersive learning
* Industry linkages and partnerships
* Innovation
* Internationalisation
* Impactful outreach
* Interdisciplinary research
She stressed that achieving these seven dimensions requires world-class faculty and infrastructure. For this purpose, she advocated purposeful faculty development programs, not limited to a few weeks of training but also supported by ongoing mentoring and professional development systems to strengthen faculty skills, knowledge, and professionalism.
Prof. Dr. Quraishi also acknowledged the mentors and educational leaders who have served as her personal role models, underlining the vital role of role models in paving the way for teaching excellence, impactful research, and innovation.
