A Dynamic Series of Interactive Faculty Development workshops organized by FDC

The Faculty Development Center of DFDI, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), successfully organized a Dynamic Series of Interactive Faculty Development workshops aimed at enriching pedagogy, fostering leadership, and integrating innovation into higher education.

1. Mr. Fakhir Hassan Shah, a renowned motivational speaker and educationist, conducted an insightful session on Character Modeling. He emphasized the critical role of teachers as role models, guiding faculty on how character-building and ethical modeling provide the foundation for nurturing responsible, value-driven students and citizens.

2. Dr. Afifa Khanam, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, LCWU, shared her expertise in creative instructional design through a workshop on Gamification in Teaching. She introduced innovative gamification tools and strategies, demonstrating how interactive and playful learning methods can significantly enhance student motivation and engagement.

3. Dr. Tahira Kalsoom, tenured Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, LCWU, delivered an engaging session on Authentic Assessment, focusing on learner-centered and meaningful evaluation practices. She highlighted strategies for designing assessments that accurately reflect students’ real-world skills, critical thinking, and holistic learning outcomes.

4. Prof. Dr. Rubina Farooq, former Vice Chancellor of Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) and a distinguished academic leader, inspired participants to view leadership as a purposeful journey of vision and service. Her address underscored the importance of resilience, inclusivity, and innovation in academic leadership.

5. Dr. Muhammad Babar, a dynamic scholar and leadership mentor, offered practical insights into academic leadership. He discussed how educators can prepare for leadership roles, cultivate foresight, and adapt effectively to the evolving challenges of higher education.

6. Dr. Muhammad Shafique Chaudhary, an expert in educational technology, conducted an online session from the USA on Artificial Intelligence in Teaching. He demonstrated how AI is transforming education, ranging from personalized instruction to intelligent classroom tools, opening new horizons for integrating emerging technologies into pedagogy in diverse disciplines.

Collectively, these workshops exemplified the strong commitment of the University towards advancing faculty empowerment and professional growth, under the able leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi. The faculty development programs gear to promote teaching excellence by harmonizing ethics, creativity, authentic pedagogical practices, leadership foresight, and technological innovation.
