Industry–Academia Linkages: LCWU Students Shine in ChenOne Internship Program
The internship program offered by ChenOne concluded successfully, showcasing the talent and creativity of students, faculty, and alumni of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). The initiative highlighted the importance of strong industry–academia linkages in preparing graduates for professional excellence.
The program was graced and supported by Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor LCWU, along with distinguished faculty and alumni, including Mrs. Shirin Asad, Former Director Student Affairs, Rotary Club Member, and Alumni Association Member LCA; Prof. Dr. Faiza Saleem, Director ORIC, LCWU; Prof. Dr. Faliha Kazmi, Dean, Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Studies, LCWU; Ms. Farhana Naz, Head, Department of Interior Design (program lead from LCWU); Ms. Ayesha Siddiquah, Department of Graphic Design, LCWU; and Dr. Sadia, Department of Visual Arts, LCWU.
Students from Interior Design, Textile Design, and Visual Arts departments at LCWU actively participated in the internship program, alongside peers from NCA and PIFD, contributing to collaborative learning and innovative outcomes.
The program not only provided hands-on industry experience but also strengthened the role of LCWU students as creative leaders ready to make their mark in professional spheres.
While addressing the ceremony, CEO of ChenOne, Mian Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq, emphasized the importance of strong industry–academia linkages to nurture local talent and contribute to the overall development of the country. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of ChenOne Stores Limited, a subsidiary of the Chenab Group.
Mian Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq, an accomplished entrepreneur and businessman, congratulated the Internship Program Director for successfully initiating the ChenOne Internship Program. The program provides students with valuable exposure to diverse business ventures, including ChenOne Furniture Factory and the House of Chenab.
He appreciated the efforts of the participants and the university leadership for collaborating to equip students with entrepreneurial skills and leadership acumen by engaging them with the business community in their respective fields.
Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University, also acknowledged the leadership contributions of Mian Muhammad Kashif Ashfaq and Ms Mariya. She endorsed the view that industry-driven skill development programs play a vital role in preparing students for future ventures as entrepreneurs and business leaders. She congratulated the students and the faculty for their successful participation in the program.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of certificates and cash prizes among the winning students of the program.
