All Pakistan HEC/PUSB Inter-University Women’s Basketball Championship 2025

12.11.2025: Musical evening and Gala dinner for the participating teams in , "All Pakistan HEC/PUSB Inter-University Women’s Basketball Championship 2025", hosted by Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) is proudly organizing the All Pakistan HEC/PUSB Inter-University Women’s Basketball Championship 2025 from 10th to 14th November 2025, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

A total of 18 leading universities from across Pakistan are participating in this prestigious event, including Kinnaird College, University of the Punjab, Bahria University, Pak-Austria Haripur, LUMS, Forman Christian College (FCC), University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Govt College Lahore, Lahore Garrison University, NUST Islamabad, Superior University Lahore, University of Lahore, University of Sargodha, University of Management and Technology (UMT), University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), COMSATS Islamabad, and Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).

The opening ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor, LCWU, who commended the spirit, skill, and dedication of the participating athletes and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence through sportsmanship and teamwork.

The first semifinal will be contested between LCWU and the University of Lahore, while the second semifinal is featuring a match between LUMS Lahore and Lahore Garrison University on 13th November 2025. The Honourable Mr. Syed Shoaib Iqbal Bukhari, Secretary, Special Education Department, Government of Punjab, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest for the semifinals.

The final match will be held on Friday 14 November, at 10:30 a.m., where Lahore College for Women University will defend its championship title against Lahore Garrison University. Mian Farooq Nazir IG Punjab will be the guest of honour.

The championship showcased outstanding athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship among participating female athletes.

To mark the event, LCWU hosted a dinner in honour of all participating teams on November 12, 2025. The evening served as a platform for athletes, coaches, and organizers to share their experiences and celebrate the spirit of inter-university competition.

Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor of LCWU, extended her heartfelt congratulations to all teams for their exceptional participation and performance. She particularly commended Dr. Sumera Sattar, Director Sports LCWU, for her tireless dedication, leadership, and professionalism in promoting women’s sports and ensuring the smooth organization of the championship.

Dr. Quraishi reaffirmed LCWU’s commitment to empowering women through sports, leadership opportunities, and holistic education. She noted that the championship is not only highlighting athletic excellence but also fostering collaboration and camaraderie among women athletes from universities across the country.

Dr. Sumera Sattar expressed her gratitude to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and LCWU leadership for their consistent support and commitment to promoting sports among the youth, particularly young women.

HEC officials also lauded Dr. Sattar’s professionalism and dedication in organizing the event.

The dinner was attended by HEC officials, coaches, representatives of participating teams, faculty, and staff of LCWU. Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Neelma Munir, Head Intermediate (SSP); Mr. Sheikh Ghias, SEO; Dr. Afifa Khanum, Chairperson Department of Research and Policy Studies; Ms. Wajiha, and Ms. Maryam from the Department of Physical Education and sports.
