“A Series of Lectures: Understanding Culture, Inequality & Urban Life at LCWU”

The Department of Sociology, LCWU, organized “A Series of Lectures,” a flagship academic effort to promote critical thinking and broaden sociological understanding. The second lecture, “Inside the Urban Experience: Culture, Inequality, and Everyday Life in Modern Cities,” commenced with the Holy name of Allah and the national anthem, followed by an insightful discussion on the social realities of urban life. Guest speaker Dr. Rahla Rahat elaborated on cultural diversity, class structure, and everyday inequalities in modern cities. Dr. Asma Seemi Malik underscored the importance of studying urban challenges for equitable development. Organised by Dr. Kiran Ikram and Ms. Komal Riaz Cheema, the session concluded with the Head of Department presenting a souvenir and delivering the vote of thanks.
