Lahore, December 4, 2025 — The Department of Statistics continued its three-day international conference titled “Statistics and AI: Bridging the Gap with Data-Driven Innovations” on its second day. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Rehan Ahmad Khan Sherwani from the University of the Punjab, Lahore who highlighted the evolving role of statisticians in the era of data science and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of quantum computing and statistics.A panel discussion on “Statisticians in the Age of Data Science and AI” followed, bringing together experts to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities for statisticians in interdisciplinary research. The panel underscored the significance of integrating statistical thinking with machine learning and big data practices. Attendees, including academicians and students, actively participated, exploring strategies for bridging the gap between traditional statistics and AI-driven innovations.
The conference will conclude on December 5 with technical sessions and presentations.
