"To develop entrepreneur skills and encourage ideas leading to product-centered projects, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organized an awareness session in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on “How to Transform Ideas into Business”. The interactive session is the first step towards an effective collaboration between LCWU and the PITB Business Incubation Center program to encourage female students to transform their ideas into successful products. Prof. Dr. Shagufta Naz, Vice Chancellor, LCWU emphasized that female students have great potential for innovation and can become successful entrepreneurs with the right training. For this purpose, LCWU already has a Business Incubation Center (BIC), which will be fully functional with the help of PITB.
In the first phase of this collaboration, Faculty, and Chairpersons of six departments including Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, City and Regional planning, Software Engineering and the Institute of Fine Arts, were invited to discuss with the PITB team led by Mr. Sarmad Hafeez and Umair Abbas Maken. Prof. Dr Uzma Quraeshi, Prof. Dr. Rifaat Dar, Dr. Saima Farhan, Dr. Sadia Murawwat, Dr. Mohsin Mirza, Dr. Adeel Nasir, Ms. Manila Afzal, and other faculty members also joined the session. The session was conducted under one of the LCWU leading programs of E-rozgaar and BIC, and facilitated by Dr. Maria Anjum, focal person LCWU E-rozgaar program, Ms. Natasha (E-rozgaar), Ms. Nadia Tahir (BIC) and Dr. Barira Bakhtawar, from the office of Public Relations."
