Prof. Dr. Aslam Chaudhry and Prof. Dr. Michael Barber Visit LCWU to Strengthen Higher Education Initiatives

July 10, 2025: Prof. Dr. Aslam Chaudhry and Prof. Dr. Michael Barber from the University of Utah visited Lahore College for Women University (LCWU)  as part of their ongoing collaboration under USAID’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA) program.

Prof. Dr. Michael Barber, who has served as a mentor for LCWU under the HESSA program, has played a significant role in guiding the university’s institutional development. Prof. Dr. Aslam Chaudhry, who served as the Chief of Party for HESSA during its initial two years, was instrumental in facilitating partnerships with 15 universities across Pakistan to train faculty and staff.

The primary objective of their visit was to follow up on the progress of the HESSA program at LCWU and to discuss future strategies aimed at sustaining and enhancing program outcomes. Both professors reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the higher education sector in Pakistan.

Their discussions emphasized continued efforts in faculty development and the implementation of improved institutional practices, with the ultimate goal of providing high-quality learning experiences for students.
