Closing Ceremony of the LCWU (WEMP): Cohort 2

The Closing Ceremony of the LCWU Women Empowerment Mentoring Program (WEMP), Cohort 2, was held on September 2, 2025, in the Syndicate Room of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). The event marked the successful culmination of a transformative journey of mentorship and leadership.The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Afifa Khanum, Acting Director, DFDI. This was followed by welcome remarks from Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor, LCWU, who extended her gratitude to NAHE–HEC for introducing such an impactful program in women’s universities across the country. She emphasized that initiatives like WEMP play a pivotal role in fostering a conducive academic and professional environment.

A comprehensive report was presented by Dr. Tahira Kalsoom, showcasing the outstanding achievements and contributions of both mentors and mentees during the program.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Ghulam Nabi, Director General, HEC Regional Center Lahore, congratulated the participants and highlighted that *mutual cooperation nurtures leadership and builds a positive ecosystem within universities.He lauded the leadership and efforts of the Program Management Committee in establishing good practices and encouraged participants to continue this spirit beyond the program.

The session also included feedback from participants, including Prof. Dr. Faliha Kazmi, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning; Prof. Dr. Shabnam Gul, Chairperson, Department of International Relations; and Dr. Moniba, Department of Mass Communication. They expressed their appreciation for the program and emphasized the need to extend such initiatives across universities to promote professionalism, mentorship, and academic leadership.
