LCWU Leads National Dialogue on Minority Inclusion
Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) proudly represented inclusive education research at a high-level policy dialogue hosted at LUMS. Dr. Ibtasam Thakur, Head of the Department of Special Education, presented key policy recommendations emerging from the DARE-RC research project focused on the lived educational and social experiences of children from religious minority communities in Pakistan.
The dialogue was attended by senior policymakers, including Secretary School Education Mr. Muddassar Riaz Malik, a representative of the British High Commission, and leading education stakeholders. Dr. Thakur highlighted evidence-based recommendations aimed at strengthening curriculum reform, embedding diversity within teacher education, ensuring school leadership accountability, addressing financial inequities, and generating religion-disaggregated data for effective policymaking.
Her presentation underscored the importance of moving minority inclusion from the margins to the centre of national education discourse.
LCWU remains firmly committed to advancing minority rights, promoting diversity dialogue, and contributing to evidence-informed education policy at national and international platforms.
