Empowered Women, Empowered Society
On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Society, in collaboration with the Women Institute for Leadership and Learning (WILL), Lahore College for Women University, organized an engaging online panel discussion under the theme #GiveToGain.
The session commenced with opening remarks by the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, who highlighted the importance of empowering women through education, leadership, and mutual support. She emphasized that when women are given opportunities to lead and contribute, they play a transformative role in building a progressive and inclusive society.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Amina Muazzam, Director of the Women Institute for Leadership and Learning, shared insights about the week-long International Women’s Day activities, including free mental health services across universities led by the Career Counseling and Job Placement Center, and a series of inspirational messages by resilient and empowered women, reflecting the spirit of #GiveToGain.
The panel discussion featured vibrant panelists from diverse professional and community backgrounds, who shared valuable perspectives on women’s empowerment and leadership. A large number of participants attended the session, while eminent faculty members actively engaged in the question-and-answer segment, making the discussion interactive and enriching for all.
The event concluded with a strong message: when women uplift and support one another, societies become stronger, more resilient, and more inclusive.
