Lahore College for Women University held an online seminar (webinar) on the topic "The Importance and Demands of Namoos-e-Risalat( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)" on March 14, 2026, in connection with the observance of " youm-Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) announced by HEC. The webinar was held under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor LCWU,Lahore and Prof. Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Dean, Faculty of Islamic & Oriental learning,LCWU.The webinar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Zahida Shabnum, Incharge Department of Islamic Studies.
The guest speaker, Dr. Hafiz Hassan Madani, Chairman, Department of Applied Islamic Studies, University of the Punjab, presented rational and social arguments in the light of Quranic and Hadith injunctions, highlighting the importance of protecting the sanctity of the Prophet (PBUH).
Dr. Madani stated that insulting prophets is a greater sin than disbelieving in their message.He appreciated the efforts of the government of Pakistan in taking steps to protect the "Namoos-e-Risalat(صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم), and emphasized that no one should take the law into their own hands.
The chief guest, Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor LCWU, appreciated the efforts of the speaker and emphasized the importance of protecting the sanctity of the Prophet (PBUH). She directed that the contents of the lecture be disseminated throughout the university.
The webinar ended with a prayer for the well-being of all by chairperson Prof. Dr. Zahida Shabnum.
