International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2026

23rd April 2026: Lahore came together to celebrate the power of sport as a driver of positive change at Lahore College for Women University.Right To Play in Pakistan celebrated International Day of Sport for Peace and Development through organizing a one-day stakeholder engagement on 23rd April 2026 in collaboration with LCWU, featuring a panel discussion, interactive sessions connecting school-level players with college and university students, and an engaging archery workshop held at the university grounds.

The Vice Chancellor warmly welcomed all guests and appreciated the contributions of Right To Play, BARD – Bilquis & Abdur Razzaq Dawood Foundation, and Ms Seema Aziz, CARE Foundation for their efforts in facilitating schools, players, and the wider community. She also proudly acknowledged and encouraged the achievements of players across all age groups and applauded the efforts of Dr Sumera Sattar, Director Sports LCWU.

The panel discussion, “More than a Game,” brought together a community coach, an international footballer, the Director of Sports LCWU, and a representative from BARD Foundation. The discussion explored key challenges, emerging opportunities, and future plans to strengthen sports development.The celebration carried a strong message: sport is a universal language that unites, empowers, and builds peace across communities.

A powerful reminder that sport is not just competition — it’s a tool for development, unity, and peace.
