Project Exhibition

Department of Home Economics organized “Project Exhibition’’ on 29th May 2025 at Social Science building. Prof. Sundas Khalid, HOD, Home Economics Dept., Govt. APWA College for Women, Lahore was the chief guest. Various HODs, faculty members and students attended the event. It was a project showcase of undergraduates from different domains of Home Economics including textiles and clothing, food and nutrition, housing, home management and interior design.

Launch of ELMS in collaboration with Punjab Food Authority

PFA launched an E-Learning Management System at LCWU to promote food safety. Organized by Home Economics Dept., the event featured esteemed guests, including LCWU VC Dr. Uzma Qureshi, PFA DG Mr. Asim Javaid and Minister Ms. Salma Butt. The event included a documentary and presentations on food safety, followed by certificate distribution ceremony for students completing Food Safety Training Level 1, along with the presentation of souvenirs to the distinguished guests.

Seminar on Role of Aesthetics in Textile Design

Home Economics Department organized interactive Alumni Seminar on 4th February titled as Role of Aesthetics in Textile Design. The speaker, Miss Sheira Afzal, a vibrant alumna and Textile Designer at Sareeka, shared her professional journey. Sareeka, known for promoting local artists and collaborating with celebrities, has become a key player in Pakistan's fashion and entertainment industry, particularly within Lollywood. Miss Afzal's insights were inspiring for the students.

Project Display

Department of Home Economics organized “Project Display” on 13th January 2025 at Social Science building. Prof. Dr. Samia Kulsoom, Ex Principal, Govt. College of Home Economics, Lahore inaugurated the event. It was a project showcase of undergraduates from different domains of Home Economics. Various HODs, faculty members and students attended the event.

Department of Home Economics organized “Project Exhibition’’ on 7^th June 2022 at Iqra Auditorium. Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Vice Chancellor of LCWU, Lahore and Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Vice Chancellor of University of Home Economics inaugurated the event. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, graced the occasion with his presence. Various HODs, faculty members and students attended the event.

It was a project showcase of undergraduates from different domains of Home Economics including textiles and clothing, food and nutrition, housing, home management and interior design.

Project Exhibition

• Department of Home Economics organized Project Exhibition on 14^th June, 2021. The exhibition was inaugurated by worthy Vice Chancellor LCWU Dr. Bushra Mirza and Chief Guest Retired Justice Nasira Iqbal. BS students of Home Economics displayed their semester projects.
• An online meeting of Board of Studies of Home Economics Department was held on Jan, 14^th, 2021 at 11:30am through Zoom for academic purposes.
• Department of Home Economics organized project display of BS student on 26 Nov, 2019. The exhibition was inaugurated by worthy Vice Chancellor LCWU Dr Bushra Mirza and Chief Guest Dr. Samia Kalsoom Ex-principal College of Home Economics. BS students of all major disciplines displayed their semester projects.
• Department of Home Economics conducted BOS meeting on 18^th April 2019 for academic purposes.
• Department of Home Economics organized fall festival on 25^th November, 2014 from 9:00am to 4:00 pm in Hockey ground at LCWU with collaboration of director student affairs.
• Department of Home Economics organized inter-university dress show competition and handicrafts competition with collaboration of Punjab Youth Festival (divisional round), on 15^th February, 2014. Students of BS Home Economics won 1^st, 2^nd positions and cash prizes.
• Department of Home Economics successfully completed short courses on fashion designing, jewelry making, and salad bar in august 2012.
• Food hub (a project of student service center) was handed over to Home Economics Department and its Inauguration was done on 20^th September 2012.
• Department of Home Economics organized handicraft competition with collaboration of Punjab Youth Festival on 11^th October, 2012. Students won 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd prizes in card making and jewelry box decoration.
