Department of Political Science organized a seminar on “Dhaka Fall” on 16th December 2022 to discuss the event through different interpretations. Guest speakers included Dr. Farhat Haq (Monmouth College, USA) and Dr. Munawar Sabir (University of Punjab). The speakers had interactive session with students after their addresses. They highlighted the reasons for the dismemberment of Pakistan and implications for the state and society.

The Department of Economics, in collaboration with DFDI, organized a three day workshop on 'Modern Econometric Techniques' from 21st December to 23rd December 2022. The resource persons were eminent economists including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Samia Nasreen, Chairperson Department of Economics, Prof. Dr. Eatzaz Ahmed, ex- Vice Chancellor Quaid e Azam University (QAU) and Prof. Dr. Tariq Majeed, Director School of Eonomics, QAU. The guest speakers for the first day were Dr. Muhammad Afzal and Dr. Samia Nasreen. Dr. Afzal's session included a detailed overview of data handling techniques such as choosing the appropriate average method, dealing with outliers and data splicing. In Dr. Samia's session, the participants were provided with the opportunity to have hands-on practice with the usage of STATA as well as performing Panel VAR. On the second day, Dr. Eatzaz presented a detailed session on time series data analysis discussing the mathematical derivations in time series models and then practically executing time series techniques using EViews. On the third day, Dr. Tariq's session included comprehensive tips for conducting research, the importance of formulating research groups as well as a detailed overview of Panel data analysis.
The workshop was attended by faculty members, MS students as well as researchers from other universities. The workshop was highly appreciated among the participants.
The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, graced the event with her presence and presented shields to the resource persons. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Samia Nasreen, Chairperson, Department of Economics and Dr. Afzal, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.


The National Short Film Festival organized by ISPR today announces the winners of this year’s NASFF22 Awards. *Rabia Shahzad* , a student of MS Broadcast Media at the Department of Mass Communication LCWU secured 5th position out of 15 top films.
Hundreds of students across Pakistan participated in the event, out of which 30 films were shortlisted. The top 15 films were awarded a one-year filmmaking study scholarship to Australia by the NYFA (New York Film Academy).
She produced a documentary film’’ *The Culinary Heritage of Lahore’* ’ under the supervision of *Naveed Iqbal* , assistant professor of Mass Communication. The event was held today at the Prime Minister's house.
Dr. Bushra Mirza, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University inaugurated the seminar. Speaking on the occasions she stated that the Lahore College for Women University is delighted to host the national heroes and the athletes on this very educative event. She recalled the services of the LCWU for promotion of women sports in Pakistan.

She emphasized that such seminars should be held frequently enabling athletes and officials to benefit from the educational value of sports. She said that the LCWU is committed for Empowering Women. She thanked Lt. Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, President POA and Mr. Muhammad Inam Chairman Athletes Commission of POA for collaborating with the LCWU for this important event.


Continuous Professional Development Workshop on “Agile Management in Engineering.” organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering in collaboration with DFDI, Ibne Sine ICT Solutions, and PEC, 21st December 2022.
The Department of Electrical Engineering, a registered Pakistan Engineering Body (PEB), in collaboration with the Department of Faculty Development and Internationalization (DFDI), the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and Ibne Sina ICT Solutions, hosted the last Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshop of the year 2022 at Lahore College for Women University (PEC). The workshop on "Agile Management in Engineering." was arranged by Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, PEB-Coordinator, and Dr. Anjum Tahira, Director DFDI. Dr. Syed Husnain Rizvi from GlocalPM Inc. USA was invited as a guest speaker.
The session was formally launched by Dr. Faiza Iftikhar by introducing the guest speaker and preliminary details about Agile management.
The session was attended by representatives of the engineering community from different universities and people from academia. 

The attendees of the workshop felt that learning about the various Agile project management frameworks was essential and really fascinating in order to improve the systems' robustness, efficiency, and productivity in the engineering field.
The workshop was attended by the faculty and students of DEE, LCWU.
