The Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University, hosted a Commonwealth delegation to promote international fellowship, mentorship, networking, and entrepreneurial development opportunities for LCWU startups.The delegation comprised Mr. Hunain, Commonwealth Scholarship Officer, and Ms. Reema, Outreach Programme Coordinator, Commonwealth. During the visit, the delegates met Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, Vice Chancellor, LCWU, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. The K-BIC team, comprising Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Director K-BIC; Ms. Kashaf Khan, Business Development Officer; and Ms. Nadia Tahir, Research and Administrative Officer, also attended the meeting.The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between LCWU, K-BIC, and the Commonwealth to create international opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Potential areas of cooperation included startup fellowships, capacity building, professional mentorship, international networking, and access to global entrepreneurship platforms. The Vice Chancellor highlighted LCWU’s commitment to empowering women through innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry engagement.Following the meeting, the delegation visited the K-BIC Startup Hall, where innovative startups developed by LCWU students, faculty members, and alumni were showcased. Startup founders presented their products, services, business models, and social-impact initiatives. The delegates interacted with the entrepreneurs, appreciated their creativity and potential, and encouraged them to explore international opportunities for scaling their ventures.An exclusive Commonwealth Startup Fellowship Awareness Session was also conducted for shortlisted K-BIC startups. The session introduced participants to the fellowship programme and highlighted opportunities for international mentorship, entrepreneurial training, professional networking, business development, and global exposure.

The visit marked another important step in K-BIC’s efforts to connect women-led startups with international entrepreneurship networks and support their journey from local innovation to global impact.
