Seminar on "Yaum-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir"

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organized a seminar on "Yaum-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir" under the patronage of the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to highlight the significance of 5 August. The seminar, organized by the Faculty Development Centre (FDC), Directorate of Faculty Development and Internationalisation (DFDI), was attended by faculty members and students from various departments.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Shabnam Gul, Chairperson, Department of International Relations, discussed the historical background and human rights implications of India's unilateral revocation of the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir on 5 August 2019, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

Dr. Sumaira Sattar, Dr. Tahira Kalsoom, and Dr. Afifa Khanam also addressed students, encouraging them to stay informed about regional and international affairs, uphold the values of peace, justice, and human dignity, and contribute to raising awareness of humanitarian issues through informed dialogue and academic engagement.
