Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), conducted an online mentorship session for Cohort III startups on Tuesday, 27th March 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The session was mentored by Dr. Nadeem Khalid, Senior Lecturer Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Faculty of Business and Law, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK.
The session started with a thought-provoking question, “If your startup disappeared tomorrow, what would the world lose?”, encouraging students to reflect on the purpose and impact of their businesses.
Dr. Nadeem Khalid emphasized that businesses are not only about selling products but also about creating emotional value and meaningful connections with customers. He highlighted how understanding customer emotions plays a key role in building a successful startup. The discussion further explored the changing business environment, particularly how youth can adapt to modern challenges and opportunities.
The mentor discussed how global events such as COVID-19 created new business opportunities, and how emerging technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), are transforming the way businesses operate. He explained that startups can now use technology to manage tasks efficiently without relying heavily on traditional roles.
To inspire students, the speaker shared relevant business examples, including innovative ventures, to demonstrate how ideas can be transformed into successful startups.
He also stressed the importance of teamwork, explaining that entrepreneurs cannot succeed alone and must build strong, collaborative teams.
The session was highly interactive, where students presented their startup-related challenges, including financial constraints, marketing strategies, and platform selection. The mentor provided practical and feasible solutions, such as building strong portfolios for skill-based businesses, analyzing competitors, improving product presentation, and adopting effective marketing strategies. Students were also encouraged to enhance their visibility and focus on the practical implementation of their ideas.
The mentorship session was organized by Ms. Kashaf Khan, Business Development Officer, K-BIC, LCWU, under the guidance of Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Director K-BIC, with the support and teamwork of the K-BIC Entrepreneurial Club.
Overall, the session provided students with valuable insights, motivation, and actionable guidance, enabling them to better understand entrepreneurial practices and apply these learnings to their startups effectively.
