Autism Awareness in Elementary and Early Year Education

The Directorate of Faculty Development and Internationalization and Department of Elementary and Teacher Education jointly organized a webinar on ‘Autism Awareness in Elementary and Early Year Education’ on April 6, 2022. The resource person for the webinar was Ms. Arzoo Malik, who is an educationist and consultant in Special Needs. She is also a expert in exceptionalities including learning disabilities, psychosocial difficulties, and knowledge of best practices of inclusive education. The webinar focused on Understanding autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how this affects children and adults; learning how to recognize red flags in people around you; and understanding and promoting the concept of Inclusion in our daily lives.
The webinar was hosted by Dr. Anjum Tahira, DFDI, and was facilitated by Dr. Asma Shahid Kazi and Ms. Shagufta Moghal from the Department of Elementary and Teacher Education, LCWU. LCWU faculty and students of different departments participated in the webinar and appreciated the talk of the resource person on such a pertinent issue.
