Closing Ceremony of Traditional Calligraphy Course

Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalization, LCWU collaboration with Islamic Studies Department organized closing ceremony of Traditional Calligraphy Course by the Resource Person Ms. Offa Bashir on 27th September , 2022.

This calligraphy course was started in March. Two classes were scheduled per week. Due to unexpectedly large numbers of registration and response from students, the students were divided into two groups. 20 faculty members and rest were students. The course duration was 15 credit hours. Resource person has solved all the problems related to calligraphy materials and provided practice sheets and “Qalam” to some students. The mission of this course is to preserve the dying art of calligraphy among youth & to develop keen interest for skills development.

The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Dean Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, LCWU, Dr. Rahat Ajmal, Principal Intermediate College, LCWU, Dr. Zahida Shabnum, Chairperson of Islamic studies & Dr. Rehana Kausar, Chairperson of the Urdu Department, LCWU.

The chief guest distributed the certificates among the participants, resource persons and Organizing Committee. Participants highly appreciated the efforts of DFDI for organizing such kind of useful Training. The organizing committee was comprised of Dr. Anjum Tahira, Director DFDI, Ms. Umber Javaid as Coordinators.
