LCWU launches Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center

LCWU as a leading partner in the entrepreneurial consortium comprising of Virtual University of Pakistan and Fatima Jinnah Medical launched the establishment of Khadija Tul Kubra, Business Incubation Center in Lahore College for Women University on Wednesday.
The business incubation center named after the first Muslim woman and wife of Holy Prophet (PBUH), who is a role model for all business women is being established under a HEC funded PKR 40 Million Project which was won by the ORIC office at LCWU. The project will also lead to the formation of a BIC at VU and FJMU. The VCs, ORICs and top management of three universities besides prominent industry leaders attended the ceremony.

Vice Chancellor LCWU Prof Dr Bushra Mirza speaking on inaugural ceremony stated that the purpose of this grant is to accelerate the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing women entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. The meeting lauded HEC as it is profoundly committed to the cause of fostering SMEs and playing an instrumental role in effective management of BIC. Rector VU Prof Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti said that now is an era of innovation, disruption and entrepreneurial passion and we have inculcated in the foundation of this business incubation center. Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof Dr Khalid Masud Gondal stated that this consortium will to help the country achieve its goals of sustainability and livelihood and become a seat of learning for the same for the entire Pakistan.

The consortium, will offer capacity-building training programs, mentorship, and establish industry linkages to startups selected by BICs of the three respective member universities. The consortium will begin its recruitment drive soon, for its new cohort.
