Capacity Building Workshop on "Gender mainstreaming in SDGs Programming"

Pakistan has adopted the 2030 agenda through a National Assembly Resolution in 2016 and subsequently launched a “National Initiative of SDGs to develop mechanisms and systems for achieving the SDGs according to national provincial and district development priorities. 

In this regard UNDP Pakistan and Punjab SDGs support unit organized a two-day capacity building session on ‘Gender mainstreaming in SDGs Programming‘ on July 26-27, 2022 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore from 10:30 am- 5pm.

Dr. Uzma Ashiq Khan Assistant Professor/ Incharge of Gender & Development Studies department and Dr. Arham Shabbir, Director QEC attended from Lahore College for Women University the above said session that was very prolific, which highlighted the main objectives to overcome the gender knowledge gaps, develop technical skills to conduct gender analysis, planning and programming.


Dr Farzana Bari, Senior Gender Advisor- Capacity Building UNDP Pakistan was resource person, she highlighted research findings of gender mainstreaming training assessment.

The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for participants to engage in cross-sectoral dialogues with government officials, NGOs, UNDP, SDG support unit of government of Punjab, and faculty and staff of various universities.
