On September 10, 2024: Lahore College for Women University hosted the closing event of the Pak Lifesaver Program in collaboration with Rescue 1122. Esteemed guests, including Khawaja Salman Rafique, Minister of Health and Emergency Services, Rana Siqandar Hayat, Minister of Education Punjab, and Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Secretary of the Emergency Services Department, attended the ceremony. The event began with an impressive demonstration of CPR by standout students from the training. After entering the Iqra Auditorium, the national anthem was played, and the host, Miss Deeba Shehnaz Akhtar, praised Vice Chancellor Dr. Uzma Qureshi for her swift acceptance of the initiative, noting that the entire university is now trained in lifesaving skills. Following speeches from the Vice Chancellor and distinguished guests emphasizing women’s empowerment and the government’s commitment to establishing Pakistan as a nation of lifesavers, the event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the best lifesavers from each department. The guests were then led to the committee room for refreshments, providing an opportunity for further engagement and discussion.
