Seminar on Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship

The Department of Social Work, Lahore College for Women University, Lahore, organized a seminar titled "Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship: A Path to Economic Independence" on 30th April 2025, in collaboration with Alif Laam Meem. Speakers included Mrs. Tehreem Hassan (Member Advisory Board, Alif Laam Meem & Manager OD and Culture, Hico), who spoke on building inclusive workplace cultures and supporting women-led ventures, followed by Mr. Syed Kashf Ahmed (Project Director, Milkar Pakistan & Chairperson, Life at Lahore), who discussed youth-driven entrepreneurship models. Mr. Salman Abid (Public Policy Advisor & Analyst) provided insights on policy frameworks supporting women's economic empowerment, and Ms. Raveeha Idrees (Volunteer Manager, Alkhidmat Foundation) shared her experiences of community-based initiatives for women’s development. The seminar was attended by a large number of students and faculty members, encouraging discourse on gender-inclusive economic progress.
