The Department of Political Science, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore, successfully conducted a Two-days International Conference on ‘Conflict Management in South Asia’, chaired by the esteemed Vice Chancellor of LCWU, Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, and co-chaired by the Chairperson of the Department of Political Science, Dr. Aisha Shahzad on January 28th and 29th, 2025. The inauguration of this prestigious event was held on January 28th, 2025 with the keynote address delivered by the renowned scholar Prof. Dr. Hasan Askari Rizvi, while distinguished guests including Brig. Imran Malik, Prof. Dr. Farhat Haq, and journalist Mr. Habib Akram shared their valuable insights on conflict management, regional dynamics and governance in South Asia, engaging the academic community in meaningful dialogue.
International academia including Prof. Dr. Paul Edleman and Prof. Dr. Joanna elevated the conference with virtual participation. Adding international prestige to the conference, foreign experts Dr. Agnieszka Kuszewska-Bohnert from Jagiellonian University, Poland, Mr. Anish Mishra from Hiedelberg University, Germany and Sana Ahmad from Umea University, Sweden, participated virtually, sharing their research and perspectives. Respected session chairs and paper presenters from prestigious national institutions, including Kinnaird College for Women, Punjab University, University of Management and Technology (UMT), University of Lahore (UOL), University of Sargodha, University of Okara, Superior University, University of Central Punjab (UCP), and National Defense University (NDU), National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Minhaj University, University of Gujrat, Virtual University, F.C. University and GCU further enriched the conference.
