On the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed globally on 26th June, the Student Council LCWU took the initiative to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug use and promote a drug-free environment.
Members of the Council actively participated in a campus-wide campaign with the slogan "Choose life not Drugs", during which awareness pamphlets highlighting the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse were distributed among students. These pamphlets also provided information on prevention strategies, support resources etc.
The campaign aimed to educate the youth about the risks associated with drug use, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, and reinforce the importance of community support in tackling drug-related issues. The initiative was met with positive feedback, and several students engaged in meaningful conversations with Student Council members regarding the subject.
Moreover they also highlighted the importance of a drug free society through a powerful video message uploaded on official LCWU Student Council social media pages.
