The Department of Sociology, LCWU, organized “A Series of Lectures,” a flagship academic effort to promote critical thinking and broaden sociological understanding and engagement. Focused on “Social Media, Misinformation, and Political Polarization”, the session featured an insightful talk by Dr. Rizwan Safdar, who explained the sociological dynamics of misinformation, algorithmic influence, and shifting political behaviours. Dr. Asma Seemi Malik emphasized the importance of media literacy among youth. Coordinated by Dr. Kiran Ikram and Ms. Komal Riaz Cheema, the lecture, was well-organized and highly appreciated by the students. The session concluded with gratitude and a token of appreciation for the speaker.
