Participation in Two-Day Event titled as “DataFest-2025”
November 11 and 12, 2025: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) organized a pioneering two-day event, “DataFest-2025,” at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad from November 11–12, 2025. This first-of-its-kind festival in Pakistan aimed to promote statistical literacy and raise awareness about the crucial role of data. Open to a diverse audience—including government officials, policymakers, students, researchers, and the general public—DataFest-2025 demystified data science and demonstrated its practical applications.
As part of this flagship event, Quiz, Poster, and Project competitions were organised to provide students with an engaging platform to broaden and deepen their knowledge of Statistics, Economics, and Computer/Data Science through intellectual engagement and collaborative learning.
From the Department of Statistics, LCWU, four faculty members (Dr. Sadia Khalil, Ms. Sameena Irfan, Ms. Sidra Sajjad, and Ms. Jiya Amir) and two MS students (Ms. Hamda Batool and Ms. Adeena Hussain) attended the event. Dr. Sadia Khalil served as a jury member for the quiz competition, and both MS students participated in the poster competition.
The event proved to be highly useful, offering valuable exposure to emerging trends in data science and national statistical initiatives. It provided participants with meaningful opportunities to learn, network, and develop professionally.
