On August 20, 2025, the Department of Geography, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), convened its 1st Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting, under the convener ship of Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Chairperson of the Department, with Dr. Aysha Hanif served as Secretary.Prominent industry experts joined the session, including Mr. Abid Hussainy (General Manager, Environmental and Social Safeguards, The Urban Unit, Government of Punjab), Mr. Jalil Ahmad (Director Horticulture, PHA Lahore), and Dr. Azeem Ali Shah (Former Chief of Party, USAID WMFEP, IWMI Pakistan) in person. Virtually, the meeting was attended by Dr. Haneef ur Rehman (DG SUPARCO, Islamabad), Mr. Nisar Ahmed Sani (Director Operations, PDMA Punjab) and Mr. Sohail Cheema (Director Engineering, WASA Lahore).The agenda included faculty training and consultancy opportunities, along with proposed revisions (up to 20%) in the Scheme of Studies for BS, MS, and PhD programs. Several amendments were approved in light of the valuable recommendations shared by the members.This meeting stands as a visionary step launched by Dr.Mazhar, for uplifting graduates, ensuring their enhanced market placement and aligning curricula with industry needs, thereby reinforcing stronger industry-academia linkages..
